In Sydney, we jump at any chance we can get to revel in the festive vibes from countries yonder. Which is why we’re very excited to hear that Sydney is getting a market dedicated to the Christmas traditions of Wigilia.
Wigilia is the feast held in Poland every Christmas Eve, usually lasting the entire night. Hosted at Ashfield’s legendary Polish Club, this Eastern European Christmas Market will champion the best baked goods and sweet treats of this feast, with Polish classics like ciasta (a type of Polish cake), pączki (Polish doughnuts), sernik (cheesecake), piernik (Polish gingerbread), makowiec (a type of poppy seed roll) and a whole heap more.
You’ll also find all the pierogi, a classic Polish pan-fried dumpling packed with sweet or savoury filling, on the day as well.
Pre-order to make sure you nab all the Wigilia treats without disappointment on the day. For more details, head here or email info@polartsydney.com.au.
