You love seafood, we love seafood, Sydney loves seafood. Summer is seafood season and if there’s one day when we’re all about freshly shucked oysters, buckets of prawns, and who are we kidding, a cheeky lobster always goes down a treat— it’s Christmas.
Bringing back one of our favourite festive things to do this month, the Sydney Fish Market is prepping 700 tonnes of the freshest seafood for our bellies. Doors open at 5am on Thursday 23 December and stay open right through to 5pm on Christmas Eve.
And while the Sydney Fish Market is usually a chaotic rush at Christmas time, this year, things are set to be a little different. In order to stick to COVID-safe measures and guidelines, you’ll actually get the chance to pre-order and get home delivery as well.
If you’re heading in on foot, you’ll want to hit the Sydney Fish Market from Bank Street where you’ll need to register through a QR code and pass through some temperature testing. There’ll be strict rules in place to ensure that all visitors and groups remain 1.5 metres apart which will be consistent throughout the entire venue.
