Junipalooza Festival Is Coming To Sydney For The First Time This August

No doubt, Sydney is a gin lover’s paradise. We’re a city stacked with dedicated gin bars, dishing out some seriously tasty gin martinis, negronis and straight-up G&Ts. We’re also home to some world-class distilleries—like Manly Spirits, Poor Toms, and Archie Rose.

Well, it seems our friends in Europe have taken note of our gin cred, as it’s just been announced that Junipalooza, London’s massive gin tasting festival, is finally coming to Sydney in 2022.

Junipalooza has been kicking around for eight years, with events in London, Hamburg and Melbourne. And after postponing its 2020 Sydney event and again in 2021 (thanks Covid), it is now hitting Sydney for two gin-fuelled days this August.

At the first-ever Sydney Junipalooza, you can expect to encounter more than 100 gins, from over 30 Australian and international distillers. Your ticket includes a keepsake tasting glass and the opportunity to sample as much gin as you’d like—neat, or with a splash of tonic (and responsibly, of course).

In terms of Aussie gins, you can sample spirits from the likes of South Australia label Never Never Distilling Co, Tassie's Taylor & Smith, Melbourne-based Patient Wolf, Sydney's own Manly Spirits, and the ever-popular Four Pillars.

Junipalooza is all about gin makers, so you’ll have the opportunity to get your gin geek on and quiz distillers while you taste. There will also be gin masterclasses, sampling tables, and plenty of cocktails to sip. And each of the gins on show will be stocked on-site, so you’ll be able to bring your favourite bottle (or bottles) home with you.

Tickets cost $40–60 and there are three sessions available: 11am–3pm and 4–8pm on Saturday 27 August and 11am–5pm on Sunday 28 August. Book here
