Adding to our growing hitlist of secluded off-grid escapes that aren’t too far from home is Kookaburra Ridge. This brand new glamping retreat has been created by In2thewild, the wellness escape group known for their tiny homes, which are peppered across Victoria, Queensland, and NSW.
Kookaburra Ridge is an ode to nature, totally immersed in the surrounding bushland. Located in the Central Coast hinterland, just under two hours' drive north of Sydney, it’s private and secluded—a spot to escape the mad rush of city and work life with no mobile reception and no WiFi to distract you.
Featuring just two bell tents (Kookaburra Chateau and Kookaburra Manor) 100 metres apart from one another, it's the perfect spot for an outdoorsy group getaway, or, if the mood swings you in a more romantic direction, a special couple's trip.
Both glamping tents feature a cosy queen bed and two single beds, and are set up on a deck complete with an outdoor bathtub, BBQ, and a picnic table. You've also got the option to add to your party and BYO tents.
And while you might be off-grid, that doesn't mean you have to limit yourself to soul searching and forest bathing. Kookaburra Ridge has you sorted with Kookaburra Tavern—an on-site bar and games house, just for you. It's decked out with a dartboard, Bluetooth speakers, basic provisions, and a kitchen with a bar fridge.
You won't have to rough it either (this is glamping, after all), as you'll also have access to a bathroom complete with hairdryer, and you can soak up all the best camping vibes by the firepit, the picnic area, and the tree swing.
Last but not least, Kookaburra Ridge is a cruisy 15-minute drive to the beach, so you'll have the best of both worlds at your fingertips: the beach and the bush.
Prices for the entire site start at $549 per night with a minimum two-night stay. Head over here to book.
