Over the past few months, Sydney’s famous Northside Produce Market has been operating virtually. The farmers market has been running as an online marketplace due to COVID-19 restrictions, which meant you could continue shopping for all your weekly goods by “clicking” on your favourite stallholders and ordering their products (be it coffee beans or a box of iso treats) straight to your door.
Now, this market is back IRL and bigger and better than ever. After having been given the green light to go ahead it will be open for the first time this Saturday 6 June, from 8am until midday.
If you're not familiar with Northside Produce Markets' epic stallholders, prepare to be wowed. You'll find the likes of Brilliant Food ,with its iconic seafood chowder, Broomfield's Pie Co., Flour & Stone, Formaggi Ocello, Wentworth Falls Pottery and the Cheese Puff Co.
As for the social distancing side of things, Northside Produce Market will be actively following the advice of the Federal Government and NSW Health with respect to public gatherings and the COVID-19 restrictions in place.
Bookings aren't required, but you'll still need to maintain social distancing (of 1.5 metres), keep cups will not be accepted and staff will be positioned at the market's entry points to count the number of patrons and provide hand sanitiser upon entry.
Additionally, Northside Produce Market will also operate like a “shop ‘n’ go” marketplace, with the COVID-safe option of being able to pre-order and pre-pay for produce and products and pick-up at stalls on the day. Tap ‘n’ go payments on the day will also be highly encouraged.
