Sky Castle Is The Multi-Sensory Light Installation Now Open In Sydney

By Rick Stephens

After months of lockdown, our city is blowing up with a bevvy of cultural events lined up for summer. The latest to be announced is Sky Castle at Tumbalong Park, an immersive, multi-sensory light installation comprised of giant inflatable arches.

Sky Castle has been imagined with ENESS, a Melbourne-based studio that specialise in large scale interactive art and installations. Together, Darling Harbour and ENESS are pulling out all the stops on this one with motion tracking that creates stunning sound and colour scapes as you pass through below.

Very obvious Instagram opportunities aside, Sky Castle and its myriad of colours represent something deeper for us all post lockdown, with the team behind it likening the project to a rainbow representing joy and hope following a storm.

Sky Castle will pop up from tomorrow Friday 12 November and hang around until Sunday 26 December, and is 100% free for everyone to explore. It's open from 10am to 10pm, but as you’d expect, this one will be most striking in the evening.
