Sydney’s North Shore has scored a sleek brunch spot from the brother-sister duo behind Pyrmont eatery Quick Brown Fox and Amalfi-inspired pasta bar Rosa.

District Eatery brings it full circle for co-owners Ben and Emily Calabro, landing in their childhood stomping ground of Gladesville.

“There’s something very special about returning back to Gladesville and bringing a concept that we wished we had growing up,” says Ben Calabro.

Decked out with glossy burgundy tiled walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, a handmade concrete slab counter for slinging freshly baked goods, and plenty of timber seating, the stylish cafe is quite the looker.

An all-day menu is led by former AALIA chef Daniel Grey, and features dolled-up Aussie classics like a stepped-up take on the humble bacon-egg roll pressed into a croissant, rhubarb strawberry hotcakes and chilli prawn eggs with flying fish roe, plus there’s a kids menu for under 12s.

Lunch-leaning gems include steak frites, Rosa’s prawn linguine, a hefty miso-roasted pumpkin with couscous and a loaded fried chicken burger with maple-glazed bacon.

The drinks are just as delish, boasting rotating single-origin coffee, matcha, smoothies and milkshakes, alongside cocktails, mocktails, wine and beer as the day moves on.

Swing by District Eatery for a feed between 6am to 3pm on weekdays or 7am to 3pm on weekends.
