Newly opened Ester Restaurant & Bar has taken over Chippendale's dining scene. The work of Mat Lindsay, Nic Wong, Adam Hall and Julian Dromgool, this dream team has worked at some of Sydney's finest establishments, including: Billy Kwong, The Apollo and Rockpool. The menu revolves around the custom-built, wood-fired oven with inventive modern-Australian dishes on offer. The meals are designed to share and we suggest trying: the roasted carrots with Parmesan custard; roasted oysters with horseradish mignonette; octopus with onion in chorizo oil; and duck with pear and Enoki mushroom. For dessert the salted caramel semifreddo is a must.
