Gina Pasta Bar is a gorgeous waterfront restaurant in Barangaroo from the same crew behind slick CBD Turkish grill Izgara and Surry Hills/Botany pastry trader Malika Bakehouse.
The sprawling 170‑seat space is decked out in terracotta tiled tables, a glossy marble bar, a salumi slicing station, plus plenty of covered outdoor seating to take in sparkly views of Sydney Harbour.
Start with picky bits from a long list of antipasti like whipped ricotta laced with pistachio pesto, crispy fried sardines, roasted peppers on a creamy bed of stracciatella, and arancini loaded with crab, ndjua and melty provolone cheese.
Pasta is, of course, the main event, with classic cacio e pepe bucatini, lamb ragu casarecce, and chilli-infused Moreton Bay Bug pappardelle on the cards, plus premium grilled steak cuts like MB9 Kiwami Fullblood Wagyu Skirt, alongside sides and desserts—the crostata al cioccolato is a major must-try.
Decision-fatigued diners can let the kitchen do the work by ordering one of the two set menu options. There’s an affordable $65pp six-plate option or a more filling $95pp nine-dish feast.
Pair with a spritz, classy cocktail, or a glass of Italian or Australian vino from the 200-bottle-strong wine list, and you’re sorted for a breezy long lunch or leisurely harbourside dinner any day of the week.
