The Meat & Wine Co has join esteemed steak restaurants Rockpool Bar & Grill, Chophouse, and Alfie’s in the Bligh Street steak precinct with the launch of The Meat & Wine Co Safari.

The Meat & Wine Co Safari continues its experience drawing menu and interior inspiration from South Africa, taking guests on a fire-licked journey through a space blending natural and desert environments with architectural elements and details evoking several African cultures.

Offering 200 seats across a main dining room and a few private dining rooms, The Meat & Wine Co Safari centres around a communal space evoking the communal boma spaces of Africa—where people gather to share stories and celebrate—with a custom-built Acacia tree, representing resilience, at its heart.

As well as their usual Afro-centric dining and premium steaks, The Meat & Wine Co Safari will offer a narrative-led menu that shares the flavours, spices, dishes, and nuances of traditional safari dishes across the South African region.

South African-born chef Sean Hall—the brand's head of culinary—will also introduce his take on dishes from home including the iconic Bunny Chow: a curry of lamb, potato and aromatic spices.

The drinks program has been developed to complement the menu, with wines from key South African regions and cocktails blending elements like Naartjie craft gin.
