Above the buzz of Wunderlich Lane, Vitelli’s Upstairs has opened the doors on a new era for the former Baptist Street Rec. Club site. Helmed by the team at House Made Hospitality, the space now channels the spirit of old-school New York Italian dining.
The menu leans into Italian-American classics, led by fresh pasta made daily by the Grana team. Expect pipe rigate alla vodka paired unapologetically with chicken parmigiana, golden Milanese in chicken, veal or pork, and fried lasagne bites that are made for the table. If decision fatigue hits, the $75 set menu takes care of the ordering.
As the night builds, the 20-seat cocktail bar takes over. Bellinis and Tomatinis share space with amaro and cello flights, and DJs spin on Fridays and Saturdays, shifting the energy from dinner to disco. There’s also a late-night bar menu running until 1am, so you can keep things moving without leaving your seat.
Two private dining rooms (seating 12 and 14) offer something extra for group bookings. The smaller space doubles as a karaoke room, a nod to the building’s past life downstairs, but with an Italian twist.
