Your out-of-office reply is about to work harder than you do.

Scoot, the low-cost love child of Singapore Airlines, has just dropped not one, not two, but THREE brand-spankin’ international routes to Asia. Kicking off December 2025, you’ll be able to jet off to Thailand or Japan with fares so low you’ll wonder if they missed a zero.

Time to crack open the calendar and start plotting your annual leave, here’s where you could be travelling to without breaking the bank.

Okinawa, Japan–From 15 December 2025

Okinawa, Japan

Thought Japan was all bullet trains and bright lights in a futuristic metropolis? Think again. Okinawa is Japan’s subtropical paradise consisting of a string of postcard-perfect beach-fringed islands.

From December 15, Scoot is flying there three times a week from $329 one way, meaning you could be strolling across white sandy beaches, swimming in turquoise waters and snorkelling across captivating coral reefs for less than a Friday night out on the cocktails.

Throw in multiple UNESCO World Heritage sites plus the unique Rukukyu culture you won’t find anywhere else in the world, and you’ve got a relaxing, spellbinding, feet-in-the-sand and cocktail-in-hand kind of holiday for the memory books.

Chiang Rai, Thailand–From 1 January 2026

Nope, that’s not a typo. Three hours north of Chiang Mai sits Chiang Rai, a smaller, cooler (literally and figuratively) northern wonderland brimming with misty mountains, lush jungle and the mighty Mekong river.

Here, you can wander through some of the country’s oldest Buddhist temples, dive into the rich Lanna heritage, haggle your way around the buzzing Night Bazaar, float under a waterfall in Khun Korn Forest and tear through steaming bowls of creamy, spicy khao soi.

In 2026, Scoot will whisk you away to this historic beauty from just $219 one way, taxes included. Bags packed yet?

Tokyo (Haneda), Japan–From 1 March 2026

Tokyo was the travel obsession of 2025, and the hype’s not slowing down anytime soon. For $329, Scoot will drop you straight into Japan’s capital for all the late-night noodle runs, thrift store hauls, 7-Eleven fried chicken and karaoke sessions you can handle.

Haneda is the more central of Tokyo’s two main airports, so you’ll be right in the thick of it from the get-go. Shibuya Crossing, Michelin-star sushi joints, vending machines that whip up hot coffees better than you can, cosplay go-karting and live sumo—this is Japan in all its chaotic, colourful glory.

All flights swing via Singapore (perfect excuse for a chill crab stopover), and tickets are on sale now through Scoot’s website and app. If you’ve done Japan to death and northern Thailand’s already been crossed off your travel bucket list, Scoot’s also added a bunch of fresh flights to Bangkok, Taipei, Vienna and beyond.

Now’s the time to fire up the group chat, lock in your leave and start planning those holiday ‘fits. We’ll see you in the departure lounge.
