What's On Friday 24 October

Have A Laugh With Lawrence Mooney At HOTA

What better way to spend your Friday night than laughing until your cheeks ache? Aussie comedy legend Lawrence Mooney has gone bush for his brand-new show Dead Set Country, swapping traffic jams for tractors and uncovering the dusty, ridiculous realities of rural life.

Expect sharp wit, a healthy dose of self-deprecation, and that signature Mooney mischief as he gets roughed up by locals, chats to horses, and fully embraces his inner farmhand. If his past shows are anything to go by, this one’s going to be pure comedy gold.

Where: HOTA,
When: Friday 24 October, from 8pm
Cost: $59.90 per adult; $55.90 per senior, student or pensioner

Expect some twanging, some twisting, and enough energy to keep the dance floor heaving all night. There’ll be line dancing lessons, themed drinks, and a few cheeky surprises along the way, so dust off those boots, grab your cowboy hat, and get ready to yeehaw your way into the weekend.

At $27–35 a glass and $12 for three oysters, it’s the kind of treat yourself moment that feels luxurious but totally doable—especially when there’s ocean breeze, sunshine and Champagne before noon. Go on, you deserve it.
