Twilight Markets


If you’re looking for things to do this Friday, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Market is where it’s at. Soak up the great atmosphere as you traipse around undercover in the lush sanctuary, bop your head to live music and grab a drink or two at the bar. Entry’s free, so hop to it.

Our love affair with Miami Marketta started a long time ago and it’s not finishing any time soon. This iconic local gem is held every Friday and Saturday night (and on a smaller scale on Wednesdays) and pulls together some of the best ethnic food stalls from across the Coast. Pair it with an electric vibe, revolving roster of toe-tapping bands and DJs, multiple cocktail bars, a dessert hall, fashion stalls and a buzzing family-friendly crowd, and you’ve got one of the best markets on the Gold Coast.

Great for an early evening stroll, between your beach dip and dinner at a nearby restaurant, Surfers Paradise Beachfront Markets have got to be your go-to this weekend. Held Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during the summer, wander the foreshore and discover local fashion and handmade goods, with a side of ocean breezes. From artisan delights, to handmade foodie gifts and kid-friendly goodies, you’re spoilt for choice at these balmy twilight markets.

Produce Markets


Strategically located at the entrance to Currumbin’s fertile valley—meaning a shorter distance from source to market—Currumbin Community Market is certain to become your mid-week ritual. Fill your basket with organic fruits and vege, meats, jams and baked goods, then stay for the breezy live music, picnic blanket hangs and activities for the little tots.

One of the Gold Coast’s biggest and most popular weekly farmers’ markets, Bundall Farmers’ Market truly is a foodie’s paradise. With more than 80 stall holders dishing up an amazing array of artisan brekkies and farm fresh food, it’s the perfect place for your weekly shop. So if you want your house stocked with fresh, healthy food, this is where you should be heading this weekend.

The perfect place for your weekly shop to buy the freshest produce, directly from the grower, Markets In The Meadow is on every Sunday and is a foodie’s dream. The friendly local vendors are always busy serving up food, coffee, sweets, plants, flowers and giftware, so it’s definitely not your usual produce market. Grab your reusable bags, check your shopping list and get out there.

A weekly must-do on any Palm Beach or Currumbin dwellers’ weekend social calendar, the Palm Beach Currumbin Farmers Markets is one of the best farmers markets on the Gold Coast. This well-patronised market has truckloads of local, leafy, tasty things to eat, so if you’re in charge of the BBQ salad this weekend, make sure you stop here. This is also a plastic bag-free market, so BYO reusable vessels to carry your goodies.

From fresh fruit and veg to flowers and, of course, street food stalls; you’ll love the leafy surrounds, cruisy live music and no-frills local vibe of the weekly gathering at the Helensvale Farmers Market.

If community vibes and homemade chutneys are your weekend jam, then trot along to the Burleigh Farmers Markets on any given Saturday from 7am until noon, where an abundance of farm fresh produce sits amongst flower pop-ups, collectables and international street food stalls. Clear your afternoon post visit, you’ll be in the stay-at-home-and-bake-apple-strudel kind of mood.

Popping up at Miami State High School every Sunday morning, this super chill market stocks, you guessed it, nothing but sustainably sourced, spray and chemical-free produce.

This well-patronised market is a godsend to our northern friends—they’re spoilt with an impressive range of boutique gifts, funky knick knacks and scrumptious food stalls. Bonus: it’s dog-friendly so bring your furry friend down this Valentine’s Day and share a dog-friendly ice cream to spread the love!

Grab a bargain with some farm-fresh produce and your Sunday plans are sorted.

One of our favourite Gold Coast markets and the perfect place to pick up a unique homegrown gift are the iconic The Village Markets. Muse over local designers, shoulder sway to live musicians and dig your teeth into some delicious street food. We can almost guarantee you’ll be walking away with an empty wallet with the likes of ceramics, homewares, bohemian linen threads and accessories, all-natural beauty products and so much more.

One of the most-well loved and iconic markets on the Coast, the Carrara Markets are rightfully hailed as a bargain hunter's paradise. Claiming the title of Australia’s permanent largest marketplace, they boast over 400 market stalls, food vans and attractions. Walk-in butterfly house, anyone? The markets are a must see tourist attraction and if you’re a local who hasn’t ventured there yet, get onto it!

The northern Gold Coast seems to be in short supply of funky markets, so when one pops up, you check it out. We love everything about the Hope Island Marina Markets—from unique artisan gifts, to fashionable clothes, stunning flower displays and adorable knick knacks you didn’t know you needed (but definitely do), there’s something for everyone. This boutique pop up market is positioned on the stunning Marina waterfront, so have a wander and grab a coffee at one of the gorgeous nearby cafes.

The Coast is overflowing with markets we’re obsessed with, but when we hear about a new market popping up, of course we have to check it out. The Courtyard Market is held in the much-loved Burleigh Courtyard event space—a hub of community, music and art—and this spirit is mirrored in the markets. They promote buying local and supporting your community at this gorgeous collection of local vendors exhibiting their artwork, ceramics, jewellery and tunes, so get out there and show ‘em some love.

Hide & Seek Children’s Market is truly a kid’s dream come true, with hundreds of turtles in the creek, alpacas and deer to feed and pet and plenty of space to set down a picnic. Let the kiddies tire themselves out playing with the animals, then browse the boutique market stalls to your heart's content.
