While the arrival of August signals the official last month of winter, the chill lingering in the evening air means an abundance of seasonal produce and winter fashion to get around at the Gold Coast's best markets.

From weekend produce markets to late night artisan pop-ups, here are all the best Gold Coast markets you need to hit up this August.

Night Markets

Sustainable Social: A Zero Waste And Plant-Based Gathering 

Did you know the Gold Coast has its very own sustainable, zero waste market? Well, now you do. Taking over Karma Collab Hub in Miami, you can enjoy an ethical shopping spree while chowing down on plant-based sips and bites. Even better, they also host a series of sustainable talks on everything from food waste to starting a zero-waste pantry. Entry is $7 per person.

The Green Marquee Eco Twilight Markets 

At The Green Marquee Eco Twilight Markets, expect all the feel-good community vibes as you wander around market stalls adorned with handmade jewellery, textiles, ceramics, vegan skincare, hanging plants; plus delish food trucks, live music to get you grooving, fresh produce from Ground Grocer, coffee and cakes from Pasture & Co., activities for the kids, plus local tipples from Black Hops, Balter and Ink Gin for the adults. BYO picnic blanket and get cosy around the fire pit.

Miami Marketta

It’s a Friday or Saturday night and you’ve got no desire to cook dinner. But you’ve only got $20 in the kitty, so heading to your fave sit-down restaurant is a total stretch. So, what’s a hungry, not-keen-to-cook person to do? Two words—Miami Marketta. This long-established gem is held every Friday and Saturday night (and on a smaller scale on Wednesdays) and pulls together some of the best ethnic food stalls from across the Coast. Pair it with an electric vibe, revolving roster of toe-tapping bands and DJs, multiple cocktail bars, a dessert hall, creative stalls and a buzzing family-friendly crowd, and you’ve got one of the absolute best markets on the Gold Coast.

Sanctuary Markets At Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary 

Great for a delish and fast feed, this family-friendly night market is held in the space adjoining the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and is filled with international food tents and trailers. Keep this community feel-good market in mind, if a stroll followed by plenty of street eats sounds like your kind of way to end the perfect beach day.

BBQ Bazaar

BBQ Bazaar is a sprawling warehouse in the middle of a Burleigh Heads industrial estate that’s been converted into a bustling marketplace, packed with stalls dishing up more barbecue-inspired eats than you could possibly poke a fork at. Burleigh's permanent night market is welcoming carnivores every Friday and Saturday evening. At BBQ Bazaar, expect loads of food vendors serving finger-licking noms, a bar with a ‘wall of bourbon’, plus ample seating, a kid’s zone, local live musos and more. Cue the meat sweats!

Mavis’ And The Magical Theatre Winter Market

Amid the magical grounds of Mavis’ Kitchen and Cabins is where you’ll find one of the finest events happening this August. At the third seasonal market of the year, celebrating the local growers and producers, expect a warm community atmosphere as you wander market stalls selling freshly harvested goods, plus art, pottery and tasty things to eat and drink. Hope Island Winter StrEAT Feast

Hosted by the busy crew at Gold Coast Design Collective Markets, the zone surrounding Hope Island Tavern will be loaded with friendly locals when it turns into an afternoon winter feasting destination with some of the Coast’s best food trucks, plus pop up bars, live music, makers markets and oh so much more.

Hide & Seek Pre-loved Pop-Up Market

In the conscious age of reduce, reuse, recycle, we’re loving Hide & Seek Market’s initiative to cut down on the excessive amount of baby products that are cycling through the system. With a bevvie of fashionable Gold Coast mums and bubs in our midst, you can bet there will be some serious treasures (read: bargains!) to be picked up at their first pre-loved market. Mount Tamborine Country Markets 

So, maybe you don’t need to stock up on polish for your horse saddle. And maybe your teapot isn’t in need of a new crochet jumper. But we challenge you to find a more uplifting market experience than the Mount Tamborine Country Market. Held in the Tamborine Mountain Showgrounds on the second Sunday of every month, it’s the perfect excuse to take a country drive, gnaw on a cob of corn and pick up some homemade lemongrass and lavender soap.

Paws At The Park

Dog lovers unite! Paws At The Park—a whole market dedicated to your fave four-legged friends—is returning to the Gold Coast to melt your heart and give you all of the warm and fuzzies. Now in its fourth year, Mudgeeraba Showgrounds will transform into a total puppy paradise with over 10,000 attendees and 100+ stalls showcasing must-have dog and pet products, plus demos and talks, dog yoga, doggie competitions, food trucks and an off-leash play area so you can cuddle and stay all day.

Currumbin Community Markets

Strategically located at the entrance to Currumbin’s fertile valley—meaning a shorter distance from source to market—Currumbin Community Market is certain to become your mid-week ritual. A weekly must-do on any Palm Beach or Currumbin dwellers’ weekend social calendar, the Palm Beach Farmers Markets is one of the best farmers markets on the Gold Coast. This well-patronised market has truckloads of local, leafy, tasty things to eat, so if you’re in charge of the BBQ salad this weekend, make sure you stop here. This is also a plastic bag-free market, so BYO reusable vessel to carry your goodies.

Clear your afternoon post visit, you’ll be in the stay-at-home-and-bake-apple-strudel kind of mood.
