Looking for the perfect spot to enjoy your morning brew, a boozy brunch or just indulge in a leisurely lunch with mates? This selection of the best Broadbeach cafes has every sip and nibbler covered.
Broadbeach, nestled right in the heart of the Gold Coast/Kombumerri Country is home to a plethora of chic cafes that serve up not just top-notch coffee, but also an array of mouth-watering breakfast and lunch dishes.
But what's my definition of the best? What makes a Broadbeach cafe truly shine? Whether it's a creative menu feature, an interesting bean sourced or outstanding staff, it's got to deliver something particularly exceptional. And, personally, I have to have visited quite a few times. In the name of research, you know?
Whether you're a local or just visiting, these coffee pouring, pastry gnawing places should be on your radar—here are eight of the best Broadbeach cafes that you simply cannot pass up in 2025.
Elk Espresso
Oasis Shopping Centre, 12 Victoria Ave, Broadbeach QLD 4218

Elk Espresso is a true Broadbeach, nay Gold Coast, institution, known for its vibrant atmosphere, breezy beach views and a seasonally-changing menu of creative and visually stunning dishes. One of the most imaginative menus in town, every dish is edible artwork on a plate.
While I can’t say what the talented team has in store for next season, their winter menu is a truly delicious celebration of warming flavours. Fill your belly with the outstanding creation that is the chocolate waffles topped with pistachio custard, blood orange sorbet, little slices of citrus, white chocolate and pistachio mousse and dollops of blood orange gel. My recommendation it to pair it with one of their expertly brewed speciality coffees, which feature their original Elk blend of beans by Parallel or one of the many Australian roasters featured on their coffee menu.
I'm a big fan of their boozy bottomless brunch which is $49 for one blissful hour of your choice of the classic, strawberry lime and tropical mimosas available from 10am daily. Every day's a good day at Elk, slinging cuppa Joe's 5.45am-3pm daily.
No Name Lane
17-19 Elizabeth Ave, Broadbeach QLD 4218

Tucked away in lush Oracle Boulevard, No Name Lane is a smartly styled Melbourne-esque cafe that dishes up an epic all day breakfast menu with a huge cult following. I'm one of the many No Name name-droppers. Sure the food's top notch and the speciality coffee's outstanding. But in my opinion it's the service that takes the cake as some of the nicest of any Broadbeach cafe.
Their lemon curd marshmallow French toast is a tangy celebration that delivers dessert-for-breakfast in every bite.Though, towering sambos like the loaded roasted herb chicken with its curry mayo, mango chutney, pickled onion and watercress is a decent meal any time of day.
Swing by this unassuming locale any day, 5.30am-3pm. Just be sure to order any food before the kitchen closes at 2pm.
Luna’s
71b Victoria Ave, Broadbeach QLD 4218

Known for their authentic Italian daytime and after dark fare, Luna’s is a decent Broadbeach cafe for long lunches Friday through Sunday 12-3pm.
The prawn and chilli housemade spaghetti with garlic and cherry tomatoes is the kind of dish I twirl my fork in with a daytime vino and good friends. With classic lunch dishes like this, I see why Luna’s has quickly become a popular hang out despite being one of the newer Broadbeach cafes on the block.
Banksy Bar & Kitchen
The Spot, Shop 1/2763 Gold Coast Hwy, Broadbeach QLD 4218

Known for its industrial-chic interior and top-tier coffee, Banksy Bar & Kitchen also homes a dedicated brunch menu which, let's be honest, there needs to be more of. It's brimming with unique gems like the chimichurri scrambled eggs and yam featuring Asian mushrooms and Meredith goat's fetta. And epic comfort food, like the vegan-friendly Roastie Toastie with capsicum, zucchini, rocket, spiced commus and plant-based cheese doused in balsamic glaze and served on sourdough.
The cafe is Quest Coffee Roasters’ first food-centric location, so you already know the coffee is going to be top-notch. The health-conscious menu speaks to Quest’s mission of social and environmental sustainability—it stars local and sustainably grown ingredients, small Australian suppliers and environmentally-friendly packaging.
Can’t pick just one menu item? You're in good company. Though with a whole swag of dishes joining the clan on the reg', I can near guarantee you'll be back again. I'm already salivating over the thought of reuniting with the true glory that is Banksy's chocolate pistachio burnt basque cheesecake with her rich layers decadently presented just waiting to be chosen as the side to your cuppa.
Banksy Bar & Kitchen is also super dog-friendly and you might even be lucky enough to spot the adorable resident dog, the aptly named Banksy. Brunch is up for grabs weekdays from 5.30am and weekends from 6am until 2pm.
Goya Cafe
9/2669 Gold Coast Hwy, Broadbeach QLD 4218
The all-day menu at Japanese cafe Goya is inspired by street-side eateries in Osaka and Tokyo. This utterly one-of-a-kind Broadbeach cafe offers irresistible fusion delights daily 7.30am-2pm. My pick for the most unique ingredient on this menu is the miso béchamel that's poured over sautéed mushrooms and fried egg with a hint of truffle oil on the Croque Mushroom dish. Then again, the Japanese staple of Omurice reimagined with king prawn bisque or crispy chicken is truly something else.
You've tried a sambo, but have you wrapped your gob around a sando? That's a Japanese term for sandwich by the way, so it's instantly cooler than our standard sandwiches. For serious hunger pangs, the decadent sandos are made with chunky slabs of homemade Shokupan (Japanese milk bread) and stuffed with combinations of fruits, wagyu or katsu pork. It's honestly one of the most interesting Broadbeach cafes and I'm always smiling ear to ear on exiting.

O Bagel
Shop 2/2791 Gold Coast Hwy, Broadbeach QLD 4218
Oasis Shopping Centre, 12 Victoria Ave, Broadbeach QLD 4218

As a bagel lover, O Bagel is my go-to spot. I'm kind of obsessed with that motley crew menu of bagels turned into sandwiches and even blueberry cream cheese desserts. It's wild and unhinged and I am here for all their wacky creations.
The classy lox bagel, with its generous layers of house cured smoked salmon, herby cream cheese, baby capers, tomato and red onion, is so simple it's sublime. And if I'm ever left with room for round two, it's hands down the G'Morning maple bacon and easy over egg topped with hashbrown and American cheddar with a generous topping of Parmesan aioli and sweet tomato relish.
I particularly love that the bagels are freshly baked in-house daily and offer the perfect balance of dense chewiness and warm crispness. Be warned: you’ll need multiple visits to enjoy the generous slatherings of delightfully flavoured cream cheeses like onion and chive, or even mocha. Say what!
Alkemist
1/1 Sunshine Blvd, Broadbeach Waters QLD 4218
Alkemist combines stylish decor with a diverse and eclectic menu, making for one of the best Broadbeach cafes for a unique vibe. I've been known to choose the healthy-yet-delicious route with the grilled chicken burrito bowl featuring roasted corn ribs and a tangy chipotle mayo. But let's be honest, when given the option, I'm choosing indulgence 99% of the time. So it's basically blasphemy to resist their famous crispy fried chicken benny, with savoury fried chicken and poached eggs smothered in luxurious Hollandaise and piled onto a flaky, buttery croissant. It’s pure luxury.
Bring your dog and swing by 6am-2pm any day of the week.
Urban Eatery and Cafe
Shop 4/90 Surf Parade, Broadbeach QLD 4218
Urban Eatery and Café is a local favourite for its cosy ambiance and delicious menu. A member of the contemporary generation of eateries, the Urban team is passionate about serving up feel-good, fresh and healthy meals that are good for both diners and the planet. I'm all about the no-nonsense approach to dishing up great plates at this Broadbeach cafe.
With plenty of dietary-friendly items on the mostly vegetarian-friendly menu, check out the vegan and gluten-free signature buckwheat pancakes and churros, with berries, coconut soft serve and chocolate sauce. I have ordered this more times than I can count. Their Allpress coffee also never misses the mark.
