Sometimes, there’s nothing more of a godsend than a holey bagel. Lucky ‘burb Parnell has been blessed once again with the opening of the latest and greatest Goodness Gracious.
That’s right, the local legends have set up shop on St Georges Bay Road and are serving up the most epic bagels in town. Much like the Eden Terrace original, you’ll find the new addition in a slim slick fit out—the 30 square-foot gem promises chill vibes and quality brews.
The man behind all of the goodness is the owner, Greg Cornes, whose epic bagel dreams have only expanded since opening his first cafe.
“We’ve focussed on getting just the one thing perfected,” says Greg. “I’ve always had my eye on Parnell and was lucky enough to find such an awesome space.”
On the expert menu we all know and love, crafted alongside Chef Steph Ahdo, Goodness Gracious has set the standard when it comes to the business of bagels.
The bagel king himself’s top choice is the Bagel Burger. It is pretty much everything we could ever ask for and more—think your traditional cheeseburger, with a house-made beef patty, smothered in hearty HP sauce and aioli, all served in the epicness of a fresh bagel. Drooling yet? Greg’s other go-to is the Proud Mary. Definitely one to be proud of, this bad boy features succulent, shredded, slow-cooked lamb, mint dijon rocket, and a crème fraiche raita worth raving about.
You can’t go past the out-of-this-world Vege Bagel. Perfect for vegetarians, it features halloumi (the cheese of the gods), a hefty helping of avo, greens your gran would be proud of and all smothered in a moreish fiery Tabasco and tomato pesto combo, enclosed in a soft, foodgasmic bagel.
Had a rough night out? For those feeling a little less than gracious, our holy heroes are here to save the day with their whopper Brekkie Bagel. With no hangover too big or too small, this bad boy features fried egg, crispy crunchy bacon, tomato, spinach, aioli and tomato relish sure to satisfy those day-after cravings and have you right as rain. We also prescribe pairing with Goodness Gracious’ very own blend of java. Blended alongside Greg’s pals at The Village Roaster, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better caffeine hit in town.
After a little sweet treat to pass you by on the daily hustle? Pair GG’s epic brews with a house-made, or Moustache vegan cookies. They’re the perfect size for dunking on the go.
Fancy a cold one over lunch? Providing the goods once again, Goodness Gracious is also fully licensed, offering plenty of beersies, cheeky wines, prosecco and even a killer bloody Mary.
Proving all that they say about sequels wrong, Parnell’s latest opening is not one to miss. For the good, the gracious and everything else in between, look no further than Auckland’s one-stop spot for the best bagels in town.
