Aucklanders, brace yourselves, an epic new style of pub has arrived. A gift to the foodie scene, The Chamberlain, is every bit as awesome as you can imagine.
TSG’s old home has had a facelift, transforming into a Kiwi classic and, quite frankly, we’re left wondering what we ever did without it! The fit-out offers a refreshing vibe to the Auckland foodie scene, showing off the best of a culmination of Aussie, American and Old English pubs that’ll have you feeling like it’s been around for years. Brought to us by the man behind many of what make Britomart such a success, director Nick McCaw has done it again bringing another local gem to be proud of.
“That's pretty much what it’s all about,” Nick says. “We just wanted to open a great pub.”
We love the mouthwatering menu—you’ll struggle to choose what to order! Led by legendary chef and food extraordinaire, Ollie Fitton, the friendly team has worked hard to bring you the best, most innovative and show-stopping iconic pub classics in town.
Nick’s top pick are the epic deep-fried pies. Yep, you read that right. Pies are deep fried to perfection So wrong but oh-so right. Changing on the daily, you’ll want to keep an eye on the specials board for the pie creation of the day. And, we all love a cheeky snag, don’t we? The foodgasmic sausage of the day is an absolute must, handmade by the in-house butcher Louis Nieuwenhuijsen, you won’t find a more satisfying piece of meat in town.
Just when you thought a second cheat day couldn’t get any more dangerous, you’ll find yourself faced with the magical creation that is the BACON nugget. Just what is a bacon nugget you ask? Imagine a tender smoky aromatic piece of bacon covered in a crunchy golden buttermilk crumb, piping hot and fresh out the fryer. Served alongside a rave-worthy smoky ranch sauce, it’s pretty much a life changing experience.
Redefining the word masterpiece, you don’t want to miss the addictive beast fries. Featuring golden shoestrings topped with the shredded meat of the day and soon-to-be-classic house sauces you won’t be able to stop yourself at one fry.
Feeling extra epic? Grab the team together and tackle the gigantic stack of the St. Louis Pork Ribs. Marinated to perfection in Worcestershire, mustard and honey they’re perfectly paired with a viewing of the game.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a pub without its beersies. With an incredible 14 beers on a weekly interchanging menu, there’s something for everyone who enjoys a cheeky couple of cold ones. Not a fan of beer? Not to worry, because they've also got a delectable wine and cocktail menu.
So what are you waiting for? Round up the crew and get down to the biggest, best and most brilliant new spot in town.
