Like beer? (Stupid question, of course you do). Like exercising? Err, yeah, sure. Okay, so while we're not a huge fan of hitting the pavement on the regs, we do love to bend the elbow every now and again for a frosty.
Beer and running, though? Together? Look, its not the prettiest thought that comes to mind—but gee does it sound like fun! Brace yourselves, because the Brisbane beer Run is coming to a pavement near you, and it's all for a good cause!
To answer a few rather obvious questions, you simply run and drink beer at select pit-stops along the way (we're not a bunch of animals, we're a civilised bunch). Simple. And hilarious to boot! Organised by small businesses in the Newstead and Fortitude Valley community, raising money for for mental health charities throughout Australia.
Whether your taking the plunge or just revelling in it, celebrate raising awareness of mental health in style with a ice cold bevvie in hand. Watch as those game enough commit to the 6.5km challenge take on the streets (whether pre or post beer skull) or take on the floor, post-run, if fitness ain't your sorta thing.
All participants will receive a complimentry brew at Fonzie Abbott, Green Beacon Brewing and The Triffid along the 6.5km course, with support from local legends Think 24 HR Fitness, SQD Athletica, City Cave, Snap 24/7, and little old us The Urban List (because we may not run for run, but we'll defs run for beer).
Entry is a tiny $10 with all proceeds going to charity! So mark your diaries, break out the stretchy pants, there's a pavement with our name on it!
When: Saturday December 9, 3pm–6pm
