How far would you travel to pig out at an entire festival dedicated to bacon? If you’d go any distance, you’re in luck, because Kingaroy’s epic BaconFest is back for 2021, and a swift three-hour drive from Brisbane is all it will take to get you there.
From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 August, the quiet country town of Kingaroy will be heaving with thousands of bacon lovers who travel from far and wide to sample some of Queensland’s best bacon and pork products, as well an array of locally grown food and wine. Basically, if you're a bacon lover you’re going to want to be there to stuff your face with all things pork and porcine from the dozens food stalls who’ll be there for the weekend.
From smoked bacon hot dogs to bacon and salted caramel ice cream and pork fairy floss, there’s nothing that can’t be bacon-ified at this festival. This year's program is yet to be announced, but just to give you an idea, 2019's festival featured everything from bacon-infused bourbon to a Kevin Bacon movie night, not to mention a bacon-eating competition. See why we're excited?
Tickets go on sale at 6pm on Thursday 1 July, and you can nab them and scope out the program when it drops here.
