Airbnb never ceases to amaze us with its slew of niche getaways and hyper luxury cabins, but this one’s gotta take the cake. The Belafonte II is a boat-turned-cosy-sanctuary and it’s the coolest-looking getaway we’ve seen in a while. In fact, it's so quirky it was just named a finalist in the Most Unique Stay category in Airbnb's 2022 Host Awards.

The vintage, 30-foot yacht was retired from her ocean voyages and has been transformed into a quaint, beautiful tiny-house-style hideaway in the serene hinterland of Mullumbimby, just under an hour from the Gold Coast.

Tucked away on a three-acre rural property under a large protective bamboo grove, the Belafonte II is surrounded by breathtaking bushland and is just a five-minute drive to Mullumbimby Village. Thoughtfully handcrafted, the tiny houseboat features French doors on both sides of the boat that lead to extended decks, a shower and a composting toilet.

The galley style kitchen is equipped with all the basics including a gas stove, microwave, small fridge, coffee machine and coffee pods, a range of teas, mineral water, biscuits, cereal, free range eggs, bread, jam, butter, milk and chocolate. It’s basically stocked with everything you could need for a cosy weekend getaway.

So if you’re looking for the perfect spot for your next weekend away, get booking here.
