Nobody likes an unkempt mane. I mean, nobody. You may think you're flying under the radar, but I'll tell you right now, you're not.
Seriously, snip those scraggly or, God forbid, split ends and treat that band of regrowth. Bird's nests borderlining amateur dreadlocks are no fun for anyone, especially you.
So yes, we've brought our trusted scissor-hands to the table, as well as a few of your top suggestions too. Whether you're after a cut, colour, or blow-dry, these guys have got you covered. Heed Brisbane's best hairdressers...
Search for the quaint corner salon with the bright red door and ask for Lisa. A headful of wringlets and all smiles, this is personal service at its best. She's your new best friend.
Papas + Pace
Brisbane's best hairdressers. Full stop. Whether you luck out with owner (cough cough… Australian Hairdresser of the Year 2013 Finalist, not to mention the plethora of other salubrious awards under his belt), Dmitri Papas or the ever-charming Nick and uber-cool Tim, you're in for a top-notch experience. Talented, meticulous and professional, I cannot recommend the boys at Papas + Pace enough.
Jonathan, Zoe, Simi... Enough said. They specialise in cuts and colours, and you can even get your nails did too!
SH*T happens at AKA. Want to be a style child with a brazen new 'do? Jules Tognini is your go-to guy. They boast super-hot individual talent, and that is what you'll get.
York Hair Artistry
The girls at York really know what they're doing. Experts at finding the cut that will best flatter, enhance, and really just work it for you, you are in safe hands and will leave looking wayyy better than when you went in.
Toni & Guy
Haven't met anyone that can quite tame those crazy-outta-control curls? Ask for Junella Hettig at the Emporium salon – we've heard she's the master of luscious locks.
Horse Meat Disco Salon
I've never been, but a bazillion recommendations later, we bring you Horse Meat Disco Salon. This crew of uber-cool hair wranglers are masters in the trade. Apparently, according to many, Nicole does the best cut around, particularly for those with long hair.
Papas + Pace
Justin Pace and Demi-Leigh Gardiner know colour. Undeniable talents and sticklers for quality, I'd trust them with my life.
There's nothing quite like Vogue Nationale. Having been in the business for over 30 years, it seems like every good hairdresser in Brisbane is either working at Vogue or has worked at Vogue. In other words, they're top notch, and home to some of the best colourists in the city.
Togninis Hair Skin Body
They've been around since 1987. Yep, they're older than me. Boasting a bazillion and one awards, and a heck of a lot of experience, colour yourself happy at Togninis on Wandoo Street.
Establishment Hair. Skin. Body.
I haven't been, but EVERYbody is raving about the colourists at Establishment Hair. Skin. Body. Check it out and let us know your verdict!
Blow Dry Bar
$40 blow-dry's, 7 days a week. No more bird's nests. No more excuses.
White Gold Boutique
Home to a team of colourists that do amazing blonde work (and some amazing cuts and blow dries), White Gold is a dreamy salon in the heart of Newstead. Anna, Vanessa and Cassie will whip your tresses in to perfect compliance, no matter what your request!
Luke Reynolds Hairdressing
Not only will they give you the perfect blow dry, but they are situated right next to Chouquette on Barker Street, so you can have your cake and eat it too!
