Neat freaks, look away now—we’ve found the messiest, craziest, paint-splattered activity in all of Brisbane, one which will let you have some fun and de-stress at the same time. Behold, the Splatter and Splash Room.
Created by Stapylton’s DIY Invasion, an arts and craft store and creative workshop destination about 40 minutes south of the Brisbane CBD, this is the perfect, guilt-free excuse to make a little—well actually a lot—of mess. You and your paint splattering team will be sent into a dedicated room with four paint bombs and four paint pots to throw at each other, at the walls or even at blank canvases if you want a souvenir of the experience to take home. And if you feel that won’t be enough for your paint-splashing needs, there are extra paint pots and paint water bombs ready to purchase from the DIY Invasion store.
You can even choose your own music for the 45-minute session to inspire your creativity, or maybe just some paint-spreading dance moves. And for those worried about ruining their clothes, DIY Invasion supplies booties, ponchos and hair caps to keep the paint stains at bay. You can also buy other gear like a blank white shirt or trucker cap, partly for protection, partly to create your own merch from the session.
Whether you are looking for a fun day out with friends, a weekend outing with the fam or even a one-of-a-kind hens’ or bucks’ night idea, this messy activity is for everyone. Sessions in the Splatter and Splash Room happen daily every hour between 9am-2pm. Adult tickets are $50, and children’s are $40, or you can book out the room for a private session for $300 and split it between your crew. You can find out all the details and book yourself in here.
