Left Your Gift Shopping To The Last Minute? These Father’s Day Cards Are Our Team’s New Obsession

By

With Father's Day quickly creeping up on the calendar, now's the perfect time to start sussing a gift that the Father-figure in your life will love.

We hear you, finding a thoughtful and practical present capable of expressing your years of gratitude can feel near impossible. This is especially true if you're trying to stick to a specific budget so you can forget this year's FOMO and join in on the ‘25 Euro summer.

To stop you from racking your brains, the legends at Moonpig, AKA Australia's leading online greeting cards platform, are helping kids, pets and partners gift personalised cards this Father’s Day.

With the option to add photos, videos, stickers, memes, upload handwriting, and even lean on AI to generate a creative message (or poem if you will), you can create your physical masterpiece or e-card from the comfort of the couch. Talk about a fuss-free Father’s Day.

Here at Urban List, we didn’t want to miss out on the fun, so we gathered up our pet parents, Urban List little ones, and even those doing long-distance with their Dads to sit down and create a card that will bring out the inner softie in even the most staunch of our Urban List blokes. Of course, we would never gate keep cuteness so here are some of our favorite card creations.

The Beach Loving Fam, Jacs, Chief Commercial Officer

Based in Avalon on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, our fave thing to do as a fam is to pack some snacks and head to the beach for a day in the sun.

The kids always convince their Dad James to join them boogie boarding, wave diving, making sandcastles and indulging in some “platter chatter” under our beach hut.

To encapsulate these core fam memories in our card, we included pics of us at the beach, stickers of waves and our top 3 beach necessities. We also included a handwritten memory from both Justin and Jaime’s favorite beach day to date.

The kids are already excited about gifting their card to their Dad and according to them, 1 September couldn't come soon enough!”

The Golden Retriever Grandad, Daniel, Commercial Director

“This year's Father’s Day is a bit of a bittersweet one as it also marks my Dad's first Father's Day in a dementia home.

Although his mind is fading, what lights him up the most in this world is when I take my golden retriever Summer to visit. During those moments with Summer, he sparks back to his true self.

Because we can't be there with him all the time, Summer and I jam-packed our card with pictures of us to give him an ongoing reminder of how much we love and think of him.”

The Long Distance Daughter, Maisie, Commercial Content Producer

Just under a year ago, I moved across the ditch leaving my family at home in NZ to chase life as an Aussie. The hardest part about the move has been feeling like I'm missing out on quality family time on special occasions like Father's Day.

Although we bicker over the Spotify account and are highly competitive, Dad and I are super close. When we happen to be in the same place, a seaside beverage, hitting the surf and having a quick hit of tennis are our go-to good times.  Because of this, I decided to include a post-swim picture of us from his last visit to see me in Manly and a voucher for a post-tennis match schooner on me.

Thanks to Moonpig, I can send off my e-card digitally to arrive in Dad’s inbox on 1 September and avoid a bank-breaking trip to the post office. That's a massive win in my eyes.”

The Prodigent Picasso, Andi, Commercial Content Producer

“We love giving cards in our household for celebrations, birthdays, and other special days.

Posie has started to join in this tradition, creating her Picasso-esque masterpieces in her cards (her scribbles are worth a thousand words).

This Father's Day card was extra special thanks to the cool features on Moonpig. Posie loves looking at photographs of different family members, so she was excited to look through all the photos of her dad, Hugh, and pick out the ones to make her card even more personalised.

We chose a design that matched their shared love of funky colors and fun prints, and of course, left room for Posie's signature drawing.”
