The Davis Cup Is Returning To Brisbane This September For Two Ace Days Of Tennis
We all know Brisbane loves its sports, which is why we’re stoked to announce our humble River City has been chosen to host the Davis Cup qualifying tie between Australia and Poland this September.
The premier international men’s team competition hasn’t been held in Brisbane since February 2018, and in the Davis Cup’s 126-year history Australia and Poland have never faced off on Australian soil. Needless to stay, the stakes are incredibly high.
The Aussie team is led by captain and Grand Slam champion Lleyton Hewitt, with the matches slated for Pat Rafter Arena from Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 September. The winner will progress to the 2027 Qualifiers, where they have the chance to secure a place in the 2027 Davis Cup Finals.

“It’s so important for us to go out there and get the opportunity to play in front of our home fans because normally we only get that chance in January,” Hewitt said. “I’m expecting our guys to go out there, leave it all on the court and come pretty fired up.”
“We think it’s going to be a really tough matchup. They’ve got plenty of options in the singles and they’ve got a couple of very well played doubles players as well. So, we certainly won’t be taking anything lightly.”

The news comes right off the back of the Socceroos announcing they'll be playing Brazil in Brisbane and Townsville, which will also be happening in September.
