If you’re not familiar, GABS—the Great Australian Beer SpecTAPular—is a massive beer event that aims to quench your thirst in a big way. It's coming back to Brisbane this June and will feature 120 unique craft beers and ciders that have been brewed specifically for GABS—as in brews that have never been tasted in Australia before. If you're a beer person, you'll know this is a big deal.
Described as 'beer Christmas for beer lovers,' GABS brings together the best breweries from across Australia and New Zealand for a massive celebration of all things craft beer and cider, featuring roaming entertainers, panel discussions with brewers, cooking demonstrations, beer hall games and live music. There's even a silent disco—you'll probably wind up there after a few hours of beer sampling, let's be real. And of course, you need some hands on eats to go with your sips, which will be provided in the form of local food trucks.
There’s something at GABS for wine connoisseurs as well, with festival-goers able to create personalised interactive wine labels at the 19 Crimes Wine Bar, which sits alongside the Jameson Caskmates Bar where you can knock back boilermakers.
GABS 2021 will be hitting the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre on Saturday 12 June, and you can nab tickets here.
