Editor's note: Due to the weather, this event has been postponed until 27 and 28 March.
If Howard Smith Wharves didn't already own our alfresco drinking and dining loving hearts, they are certainly about to. Sit down for this, because they've only gone and announced a music event like no other right here on the shores of the brown snake.
Trek down to the wharves on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 March and discover the Howard Smith Wharves Music Trail. A culmination of art, live music and more food stalls than you can poke a stick at, the trail aims to shine a spotlight on the vibrancy of Brisbane. When you get there you're given a Howard Smith Wharves Music Trail passport and a map to track down every performer's location and if you visit every one (and you remember to stamp the passport) you will be rewarded with a prize.
Speaking of the performers, from 2pm–10pm the whole precinct will have eight pop-up stages with 30 up-and-coming local Brisbane artists across the funk, jazz, soul and Latin music genres. Post mosh-swaying, like the trek to the amphitheatre at Splendour, find the pop-up bars to cool down and re-energise for your hunt for some of the eats on offer. Mouth-watering food stalls will be peppered around the area, including the likes of loukoumades by Greca, yakitori BBQ by Yoko, Mexican-style BBQ, Goodtimes Gelato bike and the good ol’ fashioned sausage sizzle. Good music, food and vibes will be on offer aplenty, so head over here for all the nitty-gritty.
