There’s a new face at Queen’s Wharf and it’s where trolleys stacked with handcrafted dim sum roll on a backdrop of sweeping riverfront views.

Pavilion opens today on the Terrace from the team behind Longtime in the CBD and Goodtime in West Village, so it’s safe to say they know a thing or two about an authentic Cantonese spread. Where Longtime is known for its peking duck and Goodtime rose to prominence for its bottomless yum cha, Pavilion will bridge the two as a destination for all the cuisine’s culinary traditions.

The menu is extensive so coming hungry is a must. There’s the signature Yuenyeung chicken that offers the best of both worlds with chilli and scallion oils, prawn toast with foie gras and sesame, crispy Ham Syu Gok (a deep fried dim sum dumpling) stuffed with roast pork belly, and traditional century egg with poached river greens in a rich golden broth.

The beverage program is equally sprawling, across signature cocktails and curated wines. The liquid courage will come in handy for private events at Pavilion, with a karaoke room tucked behind lacquered doors to continue the festivities.

“Yum cha and Cantonese dining have always been centred around generosity, steam, and gathering the people you love around the table,”  said owner Andrew Yu.

“With Pavilion, we wanted to pair those esteemed culinary traditions with Brisbane’s best riverfront backdrop, giving the cuisine the cinematic stage it has always deserved in this city.”

Pavilion will be open seven days a week from 11:30am, while the yum cha is available until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Book here.
