Brisbane, we’ve got some good news for you. We wish we could tell you the pandemic was over, done and dusted and behind us. But for as long as that isn’t the case, we will keep delivering good news in the form of delicious foodie dreams—like a festival dedicated to slushie margaritas, for example.
Yes, a six-week-long slushie marg festival titled "Ritapalooza" is due to hit Brisbane in November, the same one that sent Sydney into a frenzy just a few months ago. El Camino Cantina, the home of giant slushie margaritas, are bringing the epic festival our way to launch their brand new South Bank venue, which is opening just in time for Christmas.
Kicking off on Friday 20 November and only at the new South Bank restaurant, the Brisbane leg of Ritapalooza will feature 15 frozen margarita flavours to sip your way through including coconut, passionfruit, watermelon, grapefruit, lychee, Hubba Bubba, Skittle, mango, strawberry, raspberry, sour apple, marshmallow and grape. If you can't decide on just one, but don't want a permanent brain freeze, you'll also be able to get a tasting paddle of four.
And of course, you'll be able to munch on all of El Camino's Mexican feeds while you sip—they'll even be celebrating Taco Tuesday with $4 tacos during the festival. You can read all about the menu at the new South Bank venue here.
When: Friday 20 November to Sunday 3 January
