Whether it’s local drops, fresh seasonal veg or gourmet dairy, no other state does homegrown produce quite like Queensland. So when Scenic Rim Eat Local Month returns this June to dish up a month-long festival of tastes and sips—and our calendars are at the ready. 

Scenic Rim Eat Local Month has locked in over 40 experiences from local and internationally loved chefs and producers this year—all equipped with next-level drops and dishes to tuck into. So long lunch with the family or an intimate evening degustation, we’ve curated our top picks to help you make the most of the month. 

Sunset Cocktails And Vodka Tasting

Hosted at Summer Land Camels farm, cosy up to their gentle giants and sample inventive produce by founder and CEO Paul Martin. Think gourmet grazing plates with Summer Land Camels' finest cheese and charcuterie, buttered camel curry served with rice, garlic naan, and camel milk whey distilled vodka. Between bites, Paul will share how his camels are helping combat national challenges.

The Paddock Sunset Banquet: Live Cooking Over Thor

Now's your chance to experience the chef-hatted excellence at Beechmont Estate with a shared night of fire-fuelled feasting. The Paddock will be dishing up whole roast milk-fed pork, house-cured, smoked Rocky Point cobia, Running Creek steak tartare, and Valley Pride beetroot with Towri Farm sheep’s cheese—all washed down with local wines. End the night on a sweet note under the stars, with elevated camping treats like Canungra Creek finger lime and olive oil marshmallow, Beechmont verbena crème brûlée and Woodland Coffee Roasters tiramisu.

Blume's Guest Chef SeriesPeople dining in restaurant

Running across Thursday 6, 13 and 20 June, this intimate fine diner is opening up their kitchen to share the best of the Scenic Rim from the region's top chefs. Expect next-level dining from Jimmy Richardson of Gerard’s Bistro, Scenic Rim Food Ambassador and Tama Dining’s Richard Ousby, and Javier Codina from Moda Tapas Brasa Bar.

Homage Roaming Degustation

Running across five different locations, embark on a farm-to-table culinary journey with the Homage Restaurant experts—sampling local produce from their smokehouse, market garden, fermentation room and The Barn's coal pits. Expect dishes like the Tommerup's Dairy Farm milk-fed pork, sauerkraut, Freshwater Redclaw crayfish and pumpkin pepitas. All that walking makes for thirsty work, so Homage will have local drops at the ready to sample along the way.

Picnic At The Pavilion

For a picture-perfect date, take in views of the sprawling Boonah Estate with a loaded basket of Scenic Rim treats. Choose between sweet or savoury, then dig into Witches Falls wines, fresh vanilla slices made from Tommerup Dairy Farm's milk and eggs, house onion jams, Olive View Estate olives and pumpkin scones.

A Winter Warmer With The Clydesdales

June isn’t just for showcasing great produce, it’s also when the Scenic Rim celebrates the Clydesdale Spectacular—a party in honour of the Scottish working horses. Perfect for the whole family, spend a night filled with food, live music, and bush dancing among the olive trees. Chef Pepe Garcia will be serving up paella, succulent local roast pork and warm Scottish desserts while you get up close and personal with the stars of the night and live out your best Saddle Club life.

Sunset Session At The Overflow

Spend a leisurely dinner overlooking Lake Wyaralong with your choice of an impressive four-course affair or market-style local eats at The Overflow Estate 1895. Accompanied by the soothing sounds of country songstress Laura Frank, tuck into Tarome Crayfish broth with truffle quenelle and Canungra Creek finger lime foam, Olivier Boudon’s famous sweet and savoury crepes with Dewers honey and local lavender, and The Overflow Estate 1895’s selection of wines.

Campfire Lunch And Nature Immersion In The Forest

Get out among the eucalypts for a day of gourmet campfire cooking with local guide, Tatiana. Using seasonal veggies, she'll help you level up your campfire toasties into French and international-inspired salads and tagines. Dig into your spoils with a long lunch overlooking the valley, followed by a guided walk through the bush.

The Progressive Paddock With Ash Martin

Take a guided stroll through the paddocks with local farmer Gen Windley collecting produce as you go. You'll sample and sip your way through the farm before sitting down under the towering Jacaranda trees to a farm-style feast by Scenic Rim Food Ambassador Ash Martin, using ingredients you've gathered. Tuck into local Kalbar beef with charred organic broccoli, turmeric and lime broth, Fifth Acre herbs, fermented cabbage and fresh chilli. The dress code is garden party, so we recommend dressing in your floral finest.
