Listen up, ‘cause we’ve got exciting news. In celebration of Penguin Awareness Day on 20 January, SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast has launched their brand new In-Water Penguin Encounter and we’re officially in love.

Playing with penguins? Of course we’re hooked. Venture behind the scenes inside the Little Blue Penguins’ habitat, where you can meet the flippin’ adorable colony and treat them to a fishy feast. Get in on the action as the penguins swim, splash, eat and waddle around you from a submerged platform in their pool.

Each of the cheeky creatures has a unique personality and you’ll even be able to meet a penguin celebrity (yes, it’s a thing). Ash the rescue penguin was first found injured and malnourished on Currimundi Beach, but since her rescue in February 2020, she has dramatically recovered and is now one of the aquarium’s biggest personalities. Photo with the cutest celebrity ever? Check.

Launching in February, this exciting experience will also show you how the SEA LIFE team cares for the precious penguins and explain how you can play your part in protecting the species in the wild. The In-Water Penguin Encounter is perfect for older ones (13+ years only) and costs $124 per person. Tickets are essential and are sure to sell quickly, so secure your spot with these loveable creatures ASAP.

One thing is for sure, if you’re not a penguin lover already, these charming animals will waddle their way into your heart.
