We're calling it: 2022 is going to be the year we finally live out our dreams of weekly spa and sauna sessions, thanks to the new bathhouse that just opened in West End.

After months (and months) of anticipation and patient waiting, with a few setbacks and delays along the way, the Gold Coast's Soak Bathhouse has opened a second wellness centre in Brisbane, this one on the rooftop of West Village. Yes, a rooftop bathhouse.

If you’ve visited the Gold Coast venue, then you know that Soak is the boujee spa day location of your dreams—and the West End version is possibly even better. Featuring no fewer than seven mineral spas and pools, saunas, a steam room and a sun deck, it is just the place to wind down and engage in a little self-care, either for a one-off session or on the daily with one of their multi-packs.

You can even book in for massages, LED facials and private infrared sauna sessions before or after a soak. Alexis Dean and Niki Dean, owners of Soak Bathhouse, set out to create somewhere that offers a moment of escapism, and feels like you’ve left the city behind to find a mountaintop hot spring.

“The goal for our Brisbane location is for natural wellness and peace of mind to be accessible to people who live busy lives, so that they can access a micro dose of relaxation and self-care at any time, not just special occasions,” Mrs Dean said.

“Here at SOAK, we’re challenging how people typically have engaged in day spas. When we first launched Soak, convenience and affordability was high on our list of priorities, as these qualities are not often thought of when talking about day spas and wellness. We’re opening natural oases in urban environments so people can have an affordable and unique experience without having to travel far or break their budget.”

If you’re already keen for a soak, a 90-minute session starts at $49, with more elaborate packages ranging up to around $159. They’re open from 6.30am to 10pm everyday, so whether you’re vibing a soak in the sunshine or a spa date under the stars, you’re covered. You can get all the details and book here.
