Devour Caviar Bumps And Lobster At The Valley’s Sophisticated New Restaurant, TAMA

By Isabella Jeffrey

Here at Urban List, we love a long lunch that rolls into the early evening. Lucikly, the team behind GPO’s refreshed precinct understands that nothing beats a knock-your-socks-off dining experience—one where you can settle in and get comfortable. Rounding out the third restaurant in GPO's elevated dining entertainment trifecta is TAMA, a stepped-up chargrilled steak and seafood restaurant in the Valley.

Executive Chef Richard Ousby and Alan Hunter are levelling up Fortitude Valley's modern dining experience with gallery-esque interiors—complete with dripping chandeliers, glowing granite and plush velvet and an extensive tried-and-tested range of luxurious caviar.

After increased demand to extend their opening hours for end of week lunch, TAMA are giving away $10,000 worth of $100 lunch vouchers to the first 100 people that sign up to celebrate hitting the 10,000 customer milestone. Visit the website to get your hands on a voucher, and treat your team to an EOY long lunch celebration, TAMA-style.

Order Stepped-Up Dishes From The Land And Sea

When you have a menu curated by a former Australian Chef of the Year, you know you're in safe hands. At TAMA, Exec Chef Richard Ousby showcases dishes from the land and sea—with standouts including a 1.8kg Angus tomahawk, wagyu scotch fillet, extra large Moreton Bay bugs and either a half or full kilogram lobster. Looking for something a little less grand? Choose from an equally-delicious offering of handmade pasta, a wagyu burger made with double cheese and triple sauce served on a potato bun, creamy Sydney Rock oysters, or octopus served with chorizo, harissa and whipped garlic.

As for the wine list, co-owner Alan Hunter knows a thing or two about sophistication and carefully curated pairings—after all, he’s scored a string of awards including the Pol Roger Sommelier of the Year. Expect a broad range of considered local wines and exclusive international drops to compliment your meal, like rare French wines and Champagnes from large and independent growers.

Book A Long Lunch In The Opulent Private Dining Rooms

It’s a big yes from us.
