A 10 Week Festival Dedicated To Crunchy Schnitzels Is Heading For Brisbane

Fact: Schnitzel is a staple part of our diet and life without this iconic, golden, crispy pub meal would be truly ordinary. Here to remind us all of the true glory and potential of the humble schnitty is The Bavarian and a brand-new 10-week-long festival dedicated to all things schnitzel.

Kicking off this Thursday 1 April (or you know, as soon as we're out of lockdown and can eat out again...), each week of Schnitty Fest will feature a new limited-edition schnitzel flavour.

Dreamt up by The Bavarian’s “Schnitzel Masters”, who handmake their schnitzels daily, the festival begins with a Mexican schnitzel creation. Think crumbed chicken topped corn chips, spicy beef, beans, cheddar, tomato salsa, coriander, and sour cream. Week two moves on to a (possibly controversial) Hawaiian schnitty, that's topped with double smoked ham, grilled pineapple, Napolitana sauce, and fries.

Other highlights include an Oktoberfest schnitty with sautéed potatoes, wurstsalat, pickled cucumber, and mustard, a vegan schnitty, and a few variations on the iconic parmy too.

You'll be able to pair your schnitty with paddles of German beer like Lowenbrau, Hofbrau, Spaten, Franziskaner, and Paulaner (four for $20, or eight for $35).

And finally, on Wednesdays, there'll be a $10 schnitzel blitz, where all 10 of the limited-edition schnitzel flavours will be available for a very nice $10 a pop, all day long.
