A Stunning New Social Dining House Is Now Open In Newstead
Long lunches on the waterfront are a quintessential part of the Brisbane experience—and we now have a new destination that captures exactly why there’s no better place to be.
Introducing The Greenhouse. Striking the perfect balance between architecture, nature and fire-led dining, The Greenhouse takes cues directly from its surroundings at Quay Waterfront to create an oasis that blurs the lines between inside and out. It’s designed to feel effortless, where every touchpoint is considered and each zone offers a unique way to experience the venue.

Of course, a feat like this isn’t for the faint of heart, which is why The Greenhouse comes backed by certified hospo pros in the team behind Stanton Brasserie and The Wolf in the CBD. “The Greenhouse was inspired by a desire to create a space that truly reflects the essence of Newstead—its connection to water, greenery and lifestyle,” said Fabian Rebelo, CEO of the Rebelo Group. “We wanted to bring those elements together into one place and shape them into a social dining house where people can gather, unwind and feel part of the environment around them.”
As you journey through the curved arches and sculptural elements, you’ll find a refined yet relaxed atmosphere that intentionally shifts from day to night. From the kitchen at the front of house to the more private Water Terrace where you can dine among ponds, The Greenhouse is as Newstead as they come.
“Most venues here are embedded within the streetscape, whereas The Greenhouse has the opportunity to open outwards, embracing water and nature as part of the experience. That contrast is what makes it unique—offering a sense of calm and escape within a neighbourhood that’s otherwise constantly moving.”

So, what’s on the menu? The Greenhouse leans on modern Australian dining, shaping its flavour over charcoal and woodfire. Evan White (previously MAYA, Penelope) serves as executive chef, with highlights including the slow-roasted rotisserie chicken, lamb designed for the table, and Napoli-style pizza cooked in a traditional oven. Plus, if you’re visiting on the weekend, make sure you save room for a sweet finish at the gelato cart set within the surrounding parklands.
Like its sibling venues, the drinks list has a strong European influence with particular nods to France, Italy and Spain—balanced with a selection of Australian and New Zealand producers. The Greenhouse will also be serving breakfast on weekends and lunch from Thursday through Sunday.

“There’s a consistent approach across all [our] venues—a focus on quality, atmosphere and creating spaces people want to return to,” said Rebelo. “With The Greenhouse, that thinking has evolved into something more experiential. It’s more open, more connected to its surroundings, and designed to change throughout the day. From bar dining with a tapas-style offering, to more immersive dining moments like the Water Terrace, it offers a broader and more dynamic experience overall.”
