Just In Time For Summer, The Straddie Hotel Has Finally Reopened With A Fresh New Look
A true blue summer in South East Queensland is all about sun-soaked sips, surf days and visits to Straddie and now the iconic pub on North Stradbroke Island has officially returned with a refreshed look and a renewed spirit.
The Straddie Hotel has reopened its doors following a massive redevelopment that captures the soul of the island and channels it into new and revitalised digs on Point Lookout. From a breezy upper deck and a second bar in the heart of the pub to a reimagined bistro and an expanded all-weather deck, each space is designed to bring you closer to the ocean while soaking up the community charm and balmy nostalgia.

The new Straddie Hotel has been curated to complement a Queensland beach summer, with sun-washed colours, bamboo blinds, tropical greenery, vintage surf posters, mosaic tabletops, and rattan lounges—so make sure to take a stroll around and soak in all the details. It’s a place for locals and holidaymakers alike, where everyone can feel like they’re returning to their favourite beach house whether it’s once a year or once a week.
The bistro menu has also received an uplift, celebrating classic pub fare with coastal flair and generous portions. Naturally, you can expect island-sourced oysters and fresh local seafood, including fish tacos, prawn and bug cocktails, and plenty of fish and chips to go around. There’s also hand-stretched pizzas, sweet-spicy chicken wings, chicken schnitties, and beach burgers. The grill will be turning up the heat with flame-grilled chicken and Black Angus rump, while those looking for lighter options can enjoy daily market fish and vibrant summer bowls. As for the early birds, a kiosk will be open during the summer months where you can get breakfast staples and coffee.
