Meet Your Mates At Brisbane’s Proudest Pub And Check Out Its Multi-Million-Dollar Makeover

The Wickham Hotel

If there’s one place Brisbanites flock to when they’re fanging for a drink with a large side of fabulous, it’s without a doubt The Wickham Hotel. The Valley pub is best known for creating one of Brisbane’s most iconic LGBTQI+-friendly spaces, and it just unveiled its new $3.1 million-dollar reno. With a brand new kitchen and menu, plus a new bar and a full revamp of the second floor, The Wickham Hotel has had one of the best glow-ups of the year.

The new kitchen will be serving up a range of delectable stone-baked pizzas, arguably the best kind of carb to be loading when you’re sinking a few on a balmy afternoon. Some highlights on the menu include fried quail served with truffle mash; crumbed carrots with tahini, fried chickpeas and chimichurri; and fairy bread & butter pudding with caramelised white chocolate and salted caramel. There’s also a bunch of new vegan and vegetarian-friendly options for all our meat-free friends to enjoy. The Wickham has also launched a brand new puppy menu, so friends of the furry variety can also take their pub experience to the next level. With meatballs,  brown rice and braised veg, and sweet treats like the Ruff Day bowl with banana, peanut butter and dog bickies on offer, you’ll be sure to make your dog’s day with a trip to the Wickham.

The venue has also revamped the Corner Bar into the Peacock room, which has easily become the most luxurious of all the Wickham bars. The Peacock room offers an extravagant drinking experience with lush new furnishings and cocktails served in disco balls complete with edible glitter—the perfect spot to live large (even if it’s just for the night). The Peacock room will also be home to a monthly bottomless brunch with a burlesque twist, plus comedy events and more. Plus, upstairs you'll find the Garland Room where you'll be expected to bring your best Judy’s for a boogie or a celebration. If that wasn’t enough to get the group chat excited, perhaps the complete restoration of the second floor will get it fired up. The Wickham’s upstairs has been transformed into an Alice In Wonderland-themed space, complete with eclectic wallpaper and furnishings to bring the theme to life. The space will host The Wickham’s famous club nights as well as its fabulous functions, which means that a trip down the rabbit hole has never been more tempting.Whether you want a chill afternoon in the beer garden to enjoy some live music, or you’re in the mood to dance the night away with the Valley’s best queens and DJs, be sure to push Brisbane’s proudest pub to the top of your list for a guaranteed good time out.
