Winter is coming to an end (tbh, did it even happen this year?) and subsequently, Brisbane is bursting at the seams with events and things to do. So guys, it's time to celebrate the oncoming of warmer weather; here's 12 absolutely top events that are happening this weekend in Brisbane to get you moving.

Friday 18th August 

Zine And Indie Comic Symposium

Comic lovers, listen up. A two day event has been made just for you! Celebrating five years since their launch, the Zine And Indie Comic Symposium is back and better than ever! With four days of comic madness, ZICS kick off on the Friday with a Drink’n’Draw Pub Scrawl at Betty’s Espresso and Bar, a party boat on the Saturday launching from Southbank and a comic fair to finish in style. Do you need a better excuse to party? We don’t!

Divine Intervention At Metro Arts

Less Alanis Morissette, more Paltrow in a Sliding Doors moment, Yarn Storytelling is celebrating Divine Intervention's 5th anniversary with a night of tales and memories told by some of your favourite authors, covering and exploring the topic of divine intervention, coincidence and faith. It'll be deep, it'll be LOL-worthy, and it'll certainly make you think.

Revive Second-Hand Pop Up Festival

That’s right, your favourite second-hand market is back with some of Brisbane’s most renowned stallholders popping up. Watch as South Bank Parklands transforms into a bargain hunter’s playground with a fine selection of vintage and antique homewares, furniture and clothing all on offer. Following up National Op Shop Week, the festival is also said to feature stylists, markets, entertainment and food trucks (because what would we do without them).

Saturday 19th August 

Rainbow Beer Party

Raise you’re beers, because Drink Rainbow are throwing a massive Rainbow Beer Party to celebrate Australian Marriage Equality.
