Mark 28 December in your calendar music lovers, because Brisbane is getting a brand new festival and it’s already dropped one of the biggest names in the business with the first act announcement.
The team behind Beyond The Valley in Victoria and the crew who put on Origin Fields in Perth have combined their magical forces to create a whole new festival called Wildlands–and they’re launching it on our sun-soaked northern doorstep for one day of immersive music and arts escapism like no other.
All you really need to know is that RÜFÜS DU SOL is the headline act, but full line-up also includes the likes of Tyler, The Creator, RL Grime, Skepta, Ella Mai, Lion Babe and Mallrat. They'll all be taking over the Brisbane Showgrounds for one final 2019 bash.
If you don't know, both Beyond The Valley and Origin Fields always come through with killer line ups for Victoria and WA every year and now they’re spreading the love to Queensland with the new festival offering.
Beyond the Valley festival director Michael Cristidis says, “Beyond The Valley and Origin Fields host so much amazing talent touring the country over New Years that often don’t visit Brisbane. Each festival has grown so much over the past years, carving their own unique festival experience and collectively we thought it’s time Brisbane gets their own taste of our flair too.”
We wholeheartedly agree. If you've already cleared your calendar, you’ll find the full line up and ticketing options here in the months to come. Do you think it’s too early to start planning our festival wardrobe?
