If the name Bao Bar doesn’t give you some kind of inclination as to what’s served here, then just imagine a fluffy cloud and fill it with crispy fried chicken, soft shell crab and beef ribs—basically heaven on a plate. This new Teneriffe outpost will get your mouth watering and your tastebuds travelling with their buns, thanks to a simple menu that heroes flavour, texture and finesse, and pairs perfect bao buns with just a handful of snacks on the side.
Operating out of Japanese restaurant Hikari, Bao Bar is just a pop-up concept for now, at least until the word spreads about their soy dashi braised pork belly bao and edamame and avocado dip with gyoza chips. But don’t let that stop you from ordering their bao buns, chicken karaage and Asian noodle salads to take away—in fact, the more you order, the more likely it is they'll become a permanent fixture. Just be sure to jump on their website to pre-order (or Uber Eats for delivery) as they aren't currently taking orders in venue.
