Brisbane, there’s a brand-new sando spot that already has us in a chokehold for its dense, loaded subs with specialty sauces, 10-hour slow-cooked brisket, primo meats, and high-qual cheese piled into house-baked rolls. It’s time to say a friendly hello to Firehouse Subs.

The menu is 13 subs long, four wraps wide and full of crinkle fries, $2 cookies, and a decadent brownie ripe for the taking. Your sub line-up looks a little like brisket and cheddar, Peri Peri chicken, honey ham and turkey, and what’s quickly making a play for the people’s choice award, the cheesy open meatball sub. Plant-lovers, you’re in for a three-cheese veggie melt with caramelised green cap and onion, lettuce, tomato, mayo and deli mustard.

Firehouse Subs is a Florida-born spot by a firefighter brother duo who froth a good sanga. After opening their first store over 30 years ago, Firehouse Subs has its name slapped across 1,300+ spots worldwide. And finally, the famed chain has made its move on Australia, opening its very first Aussie store in Westfield Mount Gravatt.
