There's something about tiny sandwiches and adorable treats that leave every mother gushing and reminiscing over for yonks to come. I say this from personal experience, after taking my mother to Tarte Tea Garden. The crew thoughfully catered to all dietary requirements (even the tricky ones, like dairy-free pescatarian), without compromising on flavour. Bonus tip, follow high tea with a browse of the homewares store, dip at the neighbouring creek, or wander down the snaking waterfront path. Also, it's dog-friendly.

POT Studio Pottery Workshop
There are actually a bunch of Mother's Day-specific workshops happening at Tugun-based POT Studios this year, including a full day basket weaving immersion and lunch, and a pottery wheel workshop. And the high tea and vase making workshop looks top notch too. I've personally done the dinner set workshop with my mum, which is a bit spenny, but the pieces have lasted years and it's always a joy visiting each other's houses and eating off what we created together. Though for an all-round good beginner-friendly experience, the sip and glaze is set to be a goodie.
