Mother’s Day is a mere 24 hours where we attempt to repay mum for a lifetime of love. For the nappies, the pick-ups and drop-offs, the home-cooked meals, the advice, the hugs and everything else your real life Wonder Woman did.
This year, you might not be able to nab a table at your favourite Gold Coast cafe or restaurant for a lavish lunch, but there are a load of local businesses who are delivering epic feasts to doorsteps across the region.
From full-blown banquets to cute brunch hampers, here’s where to get mum a Mother’s Day lunch or brunch on the Gold Coast, lockdown-style.
If you want to treat your mum to a Vietnamese feast, look no further than Jimmy Wah’s. Their Mother’s Day lunch spread ($68) contains enough for two and includes prawn rice paper rolls, salmon ceviche, pork and lychee san choy bow, plus your choice of curry and plain rice. But that’s not all. They’re also throwing in a couple of mouth-watering fried bao with cinnamon sugar and salted caramel, so get the ice cream ready! Place your order by heading to their Insta page and hitting the link in their bio.
Social Eating House
Running their special Mother’s Day menu from Friday to Sunday (available to pre-order on Wednesday), Social Eating House has created an epic lunch to help you spoil mum. For $65pp, she’ll be chowing down on freshly shucked oysters and sashimi, BBQ Moreton Bay bug and roasted blue eye cod, before hitting the sweet spot with a French vanilla tart with glazed strawberries and white chocolate. Sadly, there are limited numbers available for this lunch, so get in quick by calling 07 5504 5210.
Traditional home-style Italian is where Orzo is taking us this Mother’s Day and we can’t be angry about it. With a weekend menu rolling out for $50pp, you’ll be serving up mum the gift of great food. Dishes range from the house-made ravioli filled with wagyu beef, braised chicken with a sweet and sour ratatouille, and a drool-worthy short crust tart with amaretto custard and apricot jam. Pre-orders kick off on Wednesday, so give them a call on 07 5570 3476 to lock it in.
Give your mum the Sunday Roast of her dreams, thanks to Tasca’s Mother’s Day Roast menus. Offering two set menus—regular roast ($35) and a vego roast ($30pp)—she’ll find stomach-warming dishes like Pecorino cauliflower bake, buttered greens and zucchini salad, as well as your choice of Porchetta (Italian roast pork and crackling) or eggplant schnitzel with mushroom sauce and thyme. Drooling yet? Tasca are now taking orders for a 1pm and 6pm pick up, so give them a ring on 0457 230 921.
The team at Labart are covering all bases this Mother’s Day on the Gold Coast, with options for brekkie, lunch and dinner. Start mum’s day off with a heavenly bacon and egg roll and coffee, and you know you’ll be in the good books for weeks to come. Or, if you’ve got more time to hang out, get comfy and help her work her way through three delicious courses, featuring burrata, local king prawns and slow-cooked lamb leg. Don’t forget to add on something for the dessert stomach—Labart’s Spanish rice pudding with mango and lemon myrtle jam will do just the trick. Bam Bam Bakehouse

Warm her heart and her belly with a mix of flaky treats including a strawberry Breton, ruby chocolate éclair, red velvet choux bomb, lemon tart with pink meringue and cheesecake tart.
