Don’t forget, folks, that one special day of the year—where you can (and should) shower extra love and attention on the lady (or ladies) you hold dearest to your heart—is Mother’s Day and it’s just around the corner!

Mavis’s Kitchen Garden Long Lunch

Treat mum (and we guess yourself while you’re at it!) to a whimsical garden long lunch in the lush grounds of Mavis’s Kitchen. Mavis’s garden party will be kicked off  with some festive Floral Ink Gin cocktails (yes, please!), four courses of share platter-style dining and a special gift for mum. This is certain to be one of the most beautiful Mother’s Day events on the Gold Coast (or within driving distance, at least).

Jimmy Wah’s Boozy Mother’s Day Banquet


Feast on contemporary Vietnamese with your dearest mother duck when you secure your table at Jimmy Wah’s six-course luncheon. If you and mum like to get a little boozy together (we won’t judge), boost your booking with bottomless beer and bubbles or, go the full monty with Aperol Spritz and French Rose. Oh la la!

Whisky-Dappled Lunch At The Scottish Prince

The Scottish Prince loves mums so much, they’re opening the hatches for their first ever lunch service. Treat your mumma or fave lady to a special five-course lunch complete with tempura stuffed flowers, maple whisky glazed lamb cutlets, a delish dark chocolate and espresso mousse with whisky cream and more. Better plan for dad to do the pick ups and drop offs.

Long Lunch At The Collective

The Collective never misses out on an opportunity to celebrate, no matter what the occasion. On Mother’s Day, all you need to do is book your table for lunch or dinner, and then for an extra $55 they’ll arrange to have a bottle of NV Dominique sparkling rose waiting on ice, together with a bunch of oriental lilies. Mother’s Day Tea At The Pastry Emporium 


A Mother’s Day Tea (without the ‘high’) will be hosted on both Saturday and Sunday at baked good specialists, The Pastry Emporium. With one seating per day (at 11:30am) you’ll wanna act fast to sample house baked sweet, savoury treats and a take home gift for mum.

Get Lei’d On Mother’s Day At Mo’s Desert Clubhouse 


Mix it up this Mother’s Day and do something completely different with a Haku Lei making workshop at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse. This creative hub in the Burleigh industrial estate always brings the good vibes. With protein balls, fruit and smoothie stuffed in one hand and fresh flowers in the other, you’ll be well equipped to create a Hawaiian masterpiece, but above all, its just a fun way to spend the day with mum.

Mother’s Day Flower Crowns & High Tea At The Craft Parlour

This one is for the creative souls, or those who have absolutely nil art skills but are keen for a love-filled laugh. Held on Mother’s Day, The Craft Parlour are hosting what will be a fun, cultivating workshop stacked full of flower crowns by Elle Jay Floristry and a high tea experience with raw treats, homemade scones and MAYDE tea. Held in their sunny studio and leafy courtyard, the cost is $80pp with all materials supplied, just bring mama bear, your fave aunt or even your BFF will do.

Sweat For A Cause At The Mother’s Day Classic


Maybe your idea of a special day out with mum is more about making a difference, rather than spending a wad of cash on guilty pleasures. The annual Mother’s Day Classic fun run slash walk (4km or 8 km) is returning to Broadbeach’s Pratten Park to raise much-needed research funds for a nasty illness that still touches far too many—breast cancer. Entry is $45 to $60 (discounts for families and children), with the action kicking off at a bright-eyed and bushy tailed 7:30am, so you’ve still got plenty of time for coffee and cake afterwards.
