There’s nothing quite like taking a soak to ease all the tensions right away. Victoria’s out-of-summer months lend themselves quite well to escaping the city for an outside spa (or bathtub) and a crackling fireplace.

One for the true railfans, (Francis Borgeouis looking at you) the absolutely picturesque Steam is a charming getaway in Forrest, housed completely in a decommissioned steam engine carriage. The nearly 100-year-old relic has been lovingly restored and is now fitted out with impeccably aesthetic period-style furniture, a fireplace and even a sizable outdoor tub with polished brass tapware surrounded by vistas of the lush bushlands of the Otways. An ideal getaway due to its rustic yet immaculate curation, The Potting Shed was a finalist in the 2022 Airbnb awards, so it's an absolute no-brainer. The farm chic house is flanked by serene nature and greenery, but the big draw is the tranquillity of the outdoor bath tucked between the trees on the back deck. The architectural wonder that sits on 80 rolling acres on the Surf Coast hinterland is made up of recycled timber and raw concrete and has been curated head to toe to keep you comfy. With a living room straight out of Grand Designs with an island fireplace, wrapped windows that look out onto the ranges, and a rustic tub on the back porch you'll want for nothing. Gariwerd ​Nook On The Hill

The Nook, situated on extensive privately-owned farming land in rural Gariwerd, makes up for its size with its innovative design and culturally rich location. Many hands came together to build this home for anyone seeking a rural getaway. 

The stunning Grampians getaway sleeps two adults. It’s complete with an outdoor bathtub and painstakingly restored native garden, bringing with it a whole lot of wildlife and further transforming The Nook into its own ecosystem of sorts. But for those who aren’t naturally outdoorsy, you’ll still have access to internet and only have to venture about ten minutes to the charming Halls Gap, the closest town.
