Stock Up, Black Star Pastry Is Bringing Its Vegan Hot Cross Buns To Melbourne

By

Dozens of hot cross buns in a row.

Everyone knows that Easter is a religious holiday, but we’d be kidding if we said we didn’t come for the food, too. Hot Cross Buns are a tradition in their own right these days, they’re sticky and fluffy and all the things you’d want from a warm bun come Easter morning—or any morning for that matter.

For the first time ever, Sydney’s famous Black Star Pastry Hot Cross Buns will be available in Melbourne. After opening their St Kilda outpost in late 2019 and bringing their incredible Strawberry Watermelon Cake to Melburnians, the high hopes for Easter in 2020 were dashed—you know why. But now in 2021 things are looking up, and Hot Cross Buns are going into the ovens.

Black Star Pastry Hot Cross Buns are no ordinary buns. First of all, they’re 100% vegan. They’re also lovingly glazed in frankincense syrup which leaves the buns with a perfect balance of spice and sweetness.

There will only be 350 buns available each day at the St Kilda venue from Monday 15 March to Monday 5 April. You can also order online but make sure you give 48hrs notice.
