NONO Is The 950-Person Pizza And Party Destination Taking Over Penny Black On Sydney Road

A sign on a building that reads 'NONO'.

The Penny Black has had a few iterations in its time, but not many have us as giddy as this one. Situated at 420 Sydney Road in Brunswick, the storied old pub will be re-debuted as NONO, a late-night pizza and party palace, a 950-person playground with a revolving array of DJs, Drag Bingo and Sunday sessions.

The new-look NONO is a joint venture from the team from Belle's Hot Chicken and Welcome To Thornbury/Brunswick who has poured their collective expertise into reviving the venue.

Only open for good times across Thursday to Sunday, the program for NONO is already quite promising. On the dancefloor lineup under the sheen of a 1-metre-long mirror ball, there will be a roster that includes heavy-hitting resident and guest DJs from Casey Leaver to Anyo Castro

"420 Sydney Road has hosted some of Brunswick's biggest parties and bands over its 14-year history. We're pumped to keep the legacy alive breathing new life into the original post office building", says Managing Director, Joss Jenner-Leuthart.

$8 pizzas will be at the forefront of the food at NONO, an incredibly enticing price point for simple combinations like a classic pepperoni and Hawaiian, cheesy garlic pizza, margaritas and more. Also making an appearance will be the iconic crinkle fries from Belles.

To celebrate its debut officially NONO's is throwing a grand opening party from Saturday 17 to Sunday 18. The team are handing out 420 free pizzas and serving up $4.20 pints and shots, a suitably festive deal that also pays homage to its notorious street address.  NONO's is open now, head over here for more information.
