Why just swing by for a quick meal when you can make a whole day of it? Introducing Odette House—the ambitious three-storey venue that’s bringing rooftop dining, Thai-inspired eats, and all-day vibes to Melbourne’s inner west.
Located in Spotswood and led by Bangkok-born home cook turned restaurateur Jojo Parkinson (of Thai Alley fame), Odette House is part café, part intimate restaurant, and part skyline-view rooftop bar. It’s one of the few rooftop spots in the area, and with live music, a dog-friendly courtyard on the way, and event space for up to 120 guests, it’s shaping up to be a neighbourhood game-changer.
On the ground floor, you’ll find Odette House Cafe—a breezy, light-filled space designed by Jojo herself, complete with soft timber, natural light, and relaxed vibes. Alongside Five Senses coffee, expect signature drinks like the Matcha Coco Cream (iced matcha, coconut juice, cream cheese foam), plus eats that cover both the classics and the unexpected: satay chicken burgers, sticky pulled beef benedict, chilli scramble, and smoked salmon croissants.
Level two is Uday Restaurant (“rising of the sun” in Sanskrit/Arabic), where plush orange booths and wicker pendants set the mood for Jojo’s house-made curry pastes to shine. Think slow-cooked Massaman beef cheek curry (also reimagined as a pie), green chicken and eggplant curry, and Southern Thai yellow chickpea curry—plus chicken larb spring rolls, fresh oyster omelettes, and the Northern Thai favourite Seua Rong Hai (Crying Tiger), a grilled Scotch fillet with sweet-spicy tamarind, lime, and chilli sauce.
Up top, Uday Bar delivers uninterrupted views of the Westgate Bridge and CBD skyline. It’s open Friday to Sunday for cocktails, wine, beer, and live music every Saturday night—perfect for rounding out the day’s eating adventure.

Open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Odette House is a rare find in the West—one that invites you to start at sunrise and keep climbing until the stars come out.
