Snag Premium Bookings And Dining Offers At These Melbourne Restaurants

8th Apr 2026
Written by: Kiera Eardley

We all know Melbourne punches well above its weight when it comes to food. We also know how hard it can be to clinch a booking and plan a night out at our best restaurants. Because, well, everyone else knows they’re the best, too.

To celebrate the arrival of Uber One Exclusive Tables, we’re rounding up the restaurants in Melbourne worth booking ahead. Their new feature means you can now get priority access to premium reservations at trending restaurants, bookable directly through the Uber Eats app—so you can finally secure that table you've had saved in your notes app for months.

It also brings everything into one place. From finding dine-in offers to booking your table and organising the ride there (with a few added perks along the way), it’s a more seamless way to map out a night out—without the usual back-and-forth.

On the list? A mix of long-standing favourites and newer spots shaping how Melbourne eats right now, with a few picks fresh off the Urban List 100, our cultural index spotlighting the people and places shaping culture in 2026. Plus, for a limited time, when you reserve a table on Uber Eats, you'll get up to $50 off your ride there.

From midweek dinners to Saturday sessions that keep the ball rolling, these are the tables worth locking in.

Lilac Wine

Stephenson St, Cremorne

Lilac Wine is nestled in the backstreets of Cremorne. From the outside, it’s a red-brick warehouse; inside, it’s been beautifully converted into a vibey neighbourhood wine bar with plenty of seating, wood-fired cooking and an iconic disco ball.

From the team at Mulberry Group (Hazel, Dessous, Square One Coffee), Lilac prides itself on a menu full of ‘fire-forward’ flavour and a fabulous selection of fine wines and cocktails. On that front, we’re big fans of their Into the Grooveway, a fiery number with reposado tequila and spiced honey liqueur.

Locals love Lilac for its immaculate low-light date night vibes, sprawling seating that’s perfect for after-work drinks and snacks, and a friendly atmosphere that can just as easily see you sipping wine on the lounge as grooving to the DJ.

Lee Ho Fook

Duckboard Pl, Melbourne

Spearheaded by visionary owner and chef Victor Liong, Lee Ho Fook (aptly meaning ‘good fortune for your mouth’) takes beautiful Aussie produce and crafts it into delicious Chinese cuisine.

Since 2013, the institution has become a standout among Melbourne's culinary connoisseurs. Anything on the menu featuring Peking Duck can't be missed, and it’s a worthy centrepiece of Liong’s generous tasting menu.

Whether you visit for the caviar, the complex flavours, or the wine menu featuring up-and-coming Chinese vineyards, you’ll love the cosy, exposed-brick space and moody lighting at Lee Ho Fook.

Tombo Den

Chapel St, Windsor

Tombo Den is another absolute belter of a restaurant from the Lucas Group (Chin Chin, Hawker Hall, Society—you know the drill). Opened in 2024, it’s an immersive Japanese-inspired venue with decor that feels like the chicest bar in Tokyo, and a menu that could make you believe you’re at an upmarket sushi restaurant in NYC.

There’s plenty of high-grade sashimi to choose from, plus handrolls and BBQ morsels straight from the hibachi grill. For something more substantial, the Miso Yaki Salmon is a banger, and you can never go wrong with their $79 or $99 ‘Setto’ set menus, complete with optional wine and sake pairings.

Reed House

Wesley Place, Melbourne

Set in an incredibly quaint 1880s bluestone in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, Reed House is one for the special occasions. Owners Rebecca Baker and Mark Hannell were inspired by traditional British brasseries, but wanted to create a contemporary Australian restaurant that feels at home in Melbourne. Where did they land? In their words, "a modern Australian restaurant with a British accent”.

This cross-continental spirit is best showcased in their Sunday Funday roasts, which are served with Guinness gravy and, of course, a Yorkshire pudding. Sunday diners can choose from honey-roasted chicken, lamb rump, rolled pork, or roasted eggplant, and pair it all with their signature Ramen Scotch Egg or Welsh Rarebit Crumpet.

Daphne

Lygon St, Brunswick East

Everything’s delicious, and nothing’s too fancy: that’s the motto at Daphne in Brunswick East. It’s a public house designed to be casual, friendly on the wallet, and a neighbourhood favourite—and it’s cute as a button.

With special community nights each week, there’s always a reason to line up a visit. Think Martini Club every Monday, where martinis go for just $15 a pop; Steak Nights on Tuesdays, where $30 will get you primo-quality beef with fries and a salad; and Pasta Nights on Wednesdays, where a generous plate of the good stuff comes in at just $25.

Hot tip: If you become a regular at Daphne's Martini Club, make sure you keep your loyalty card handy—every 10th martini is on the house.

Barra

Little Collins St, Melbourne

A Latin-American cantina on Little Collins Street, Barra's nearly always packed to the rafters—and for good reason.

Based around shareable small plates, you can author your ideal meal by choosing dishes like the signature Buñuelos (fried cassava bread and sofrito butter), spanner crab arepa with Yarra Valley trout roe, and green prawns with Hokkien noodles. Top it off with the Tres Leches featuring vanilla mousse and lulo.

Grill Americano

Flinders Ln, Melbourne

We’ve no doubt you’ve seen plenty of Grill Americano across your social feeds, namely their tiramisu being lovingly (and generously) ladled out tableside.

But the beating heart of Grill Americano is, of course, bold Italian flavours and meats from their wood oven. By way of homemade pasta, the lobster agnolotti is a must, while Bistecca steaks off the bone are the shining stars of the grill.

Carlton Wine Room

Faraday St, Carlton

Wine, as the name suggests, comes first at Carlton Wine Room. The neighbourhood bistro and bar designs its menu around dishes that work with wine, spotlighting seasonal produce from local suppliers. (They landed on our 2026 Urban List 100, too)

The neighbourhood spot is a favourite for private events, but the Front Bar is the real star of the show. Pouring wine from open to close, Carlton Wine Room is built for its community to drop in, have a chat and tuck into well-paired wines and share plates.

French Saloon

Hardware Ln, Melbourne

Perched in Hardware Lane above fan-favourite Kirk’s Wine Bar, French Saloon is an unassuming Parisian bistro in a light-filled, New York-style loft.

You can just as easily park up for a breezy aperitif on the terrace or settled in for a long lunch. The menu is French with a modern twist, featuring everything from the house terrine and Wagyu rump cap, to an enviable cheese list and passionfruit madeleines for dessert.

Tonka

Duckboard Pl, Melbourne

If you’re after innovative, modern Indian flavours in a stylish and vibrant setting, you can’t miss Tonka. Known around town for dishes like their pani puri with date and tamarind chutney, this inner-city spot has an impressive range; it’s just as fitting for a romantic date as it is for a larger group of mates.

Get around their Thali Lunch when you find yourself in the city between Tuesday and Friday. For just $29 per person, you'll scoop up a curry of your choice with daal, raita, rice, naan and cos salad.

If any of these spots sound like your kind of night, you’re not alone—they’re the ones that tend to book out first.

With Uber One Exclusive Tables, that part gets a little easier. You’ve got your pick of prime tables at some of Melbourne's most in-demand spots, all in one place—so you can bring the whole night together without overthinking it.

Whether it’s a midweek catch-up or something a little more dialled up, this is how to dine out in style—book your VIP table here.
