Those who rang in the 2019/2020 new year at Sun Cycle will recall quite the rave. Looking back, anyone would have thought we were partying like it was one of the last festivals of our time. Well, after a year hiatus, Sun Cycle returns to give it another nudge on Saturday 30 January (restrictions permitting).
Unlike the New Year’s iteration of the festival held at the Coburg Velodrome, Sun Cycle this year is taking place at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl—a worthy venue replacement and one that’s COVID-safe, too. Expect ‘private’ decks for you and your mates up on the lawn and in the stalls.
With the current way of the world, the line-up is expectedly local. CC:DISCO! Is fronting the bill and playing what will be one of her first sets since returning from Europe, psych-jazz enthusiasts and big-vibe band Mildlife is also making an appearance alongside the likes of C.Frim, Wax’o Paradiso, Izy and more.
Tickets are sold in pods, with groups of up to six being accommodated. Hit up that group chat of yours and sort your tickets here.
