The Verdict

Our favourite hidden cafe just opened a new location and this time it’s hidden atop a Fitzroy rooftop at the Australian Catholic University (ACU), in a revamped shipping container. Talk about character.

“We had only a few short weeks to clean [the container] up,” Francesca, one of the owners, says. “Gutting the insides and painting both inside and outside of the container identical to our family home where 'Capulus & Co' was born.”

The new location offers uninterrupted, almost 360-degree views of the CBD, Fitzroy and surrounding suburbs that rival those of Naked for Satan's. Capulus & Co at ACU is open to the general public all day and is the perfect place to enjoy a coffee while looking out at Melbourne, which you’ll definitely want to do more of now that it’s warming up.

Still serving Allpress Espresso, still baking delectable homemade goods and now slinging some delicious new toasties as well. The team has also partnered with Holy Crumpets and are now selling  'Holy Crumpets' sourdough crumpets with a variety of spreads that are quickly becoming a favourite.

Capulus & Co at ACU is open Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm.
