It’s refreshing to find somewhere in the heart of Melbourne that oozes relaxed sophistication, but won’t empty your wallet. [Stoke] Bar + Kitchen— not to be confused with its big sister upstairs, Stokehouse City—is keeping patrons watered and entertained with its laidback vibe and excellent menu.

Decked out with dark wood, and complete with an impressive bar and a laneway alfresco option, [Stoke] Bar + Kitchen ticks so many boxes. Whether we’re nipping in for a bite to eat, or settling in for a few drinks after work, [Stoke]Bar + Kitchen is one of our favourite Melbourne spots. 

The menu doesn’t disappoint, so if you find a few drinks turning in to a full-blown meal, prepare to roll out the door—you’ve been warned! Hot tip for burger fans: the [Stoke] Burger + Fries, served with pickles, pancetta and truffled béchamel, is up there with the best in the business.

Tucked down in Alfred Place, [Stoke] Bar + Kitchen will welcome you with open arms for a coffee from 11am and something stronger from midday.
